Hi Stacey and Vanessa,
I am your neighbor down the street and just heard about your story. I am so sorry that you and Vanessa are going through this battle. I want you to know that we are here to support in any way possible. Please let us know if there is anything that we can do. You have the Tchir-Spence’s support!!!!
I see these pictures and I see a mother and a daughter.
you love this child and she loves you. There is no denying it.
If she is taken from you she is going to be hurting her little heart will break.
It does not matter if your are her adoptive mother. You raised her and love her, you are her mother.
How inhumane can the court be?
Vanessa will not have memories like this while living with a man that was in jail for child endangerment, he is a stranger to her.
I am so sorry that you and Vanessa are going through this.
I will let the court know how I feel.
I wish I could do more for you and Vanessa.
May god be with you.
I wish the best for you and Vanesssa.
Hi Stacey,
I am here in Ohio. I have co-founded an agency that works with victims of childhood sex abuse. We are going to sign petitions, write letters and ask others to get involved too. We all have a responsibililty to help keep children safe. I believe that his initial interaction with her shows disregard for her as a toddler and her sense of safety and well being. This does not make him a safe person.
Sincerely,
Rachel Davis, Assistant Director

Stacey, as an adoptive mom, I am horrified at this case. My prayers are with you and your family, as well as your legal team. I pray that justice for Vanessa be done!!!
Tracy
I too see a family, I see Vanessa is safe and loved, I will do anything to help you, I am very close to the biological mother, I have been every since the first 2 chldren was brought up in this mess, them kids are suffering, and Benjamin is not all of what he is trying to make of himself, Ms doss get out, talk to them other kids mothers, they will tell you, and his mother, she getting to old to handle all them kids. Andrea is on her feet now with school and working, and they still wont let her see the other children, when she calls they hang up on her, she been trying and trying, I’m starting to the think the SYSTEM dont care where the best interest of a child should be. Im with you and Baby Vanessa, she is your daughter, you is who she knows. If they allow her to come here, they messing up a childs home.
I’m a proud adoptive father of my beautiful son. I hope that court seeks your child’s best interest..which is to remain under your wins for ever. Best..best wishes for both of you.
Stacey please hang on for little Vanessa’s sake and don’t let the fools get you down. It appears that putting your story in the news is the only thing that has worked so far – so be it. This is not the life you asked for when you brought your sweet lil baby home to So CA – it is the result of a selfish man who is not going to be happy until he can turn another child over to his elderly mother to raise for him.
I am so thrilled you and Vanessa have finally gotten the court’s attention. Enjoy, enjoy. There is not a single reason, that is in the best interest of Vanessa to put her into to foster care or to return her to a father, who has no intention of raising her – may the courts continue to see through the antics of Mills’ and his attorneys and finalize her adoption so you and she can begin the rest of your lives together and put this nightmare behind you.
@Lawanda, the grandmother who is raising Andrea’s daughters, is the same woman who raised Wells to be the man he is today. I realize Andrea has been thru some hard times and may not have been capable of raising her children – but if she is as you say on her feet with school and a job – can’t she petition the court to re-establish visitation? What a heart breaking story for those little girls.
This is the #1 reason that although I wish to adopt one day I will NEVER adopt domestically here in the USA but do foreign adoption. Its a shame the US has not figured out that a child love and safety are 1st. Especially when the biological “parents” are consistently finding themselves in trouble with legal issues. I wish you much luck and my prayers are with you both.
I am a family law attorney and I specialize in fathers’ rights. That being said, I never in a million years would represent a man like Benjamin Mills in a case like this. A man with his record of handing over children to someone else to parent like they were stray cats is not the kind of parent this child needs. DNA does not make a family. You are this girl’s family. I hope and pray that you prevail.
